EUROPEAN BOXER PUPPIES FOR SALE
Picking your BOXER puppy.
Welcome to the world of Boxers!! No matter which puppy you choose your life will never be the same!! Boxers wiggle their way into your heart and onto your couch even if you're a no dog on the furniture type person. Boxers are fun-loving, silly, energetic dogs all the way until the end. They are one of the smartest dogs and are so intuitive you would think they are reading your mind! The AKC describes them as active, bright, and fun-loving. Their typical life span is 10 to 12 years, but you do find the occasional 15 yr old. They weigh anywhere from 40 to 80 pounds, with the Europeans going up to around 100 pounds. Speaking of Europeans, they tend to be healthier than the Americans with DM not even being tested for over there since it is rarely found in the European population.
So on to picking your puppy!!
Whether you pick a male or female puppy is really just personal preference, both make wonderful pets. If you already have a Boxer at home most people find getting the opposite sex works out the best. After males and females have been altered, they lack the desire to roam and they become less territorial about their area, toys, and yard, so they are less prone to fights and undesirable behaviors like marking. Another personal preference is color and markings. Boxers come in 3 colors. Not all 3 are accepted for registration or in the show ring, but they still exist and make great pets. They are Fawn, Brindle, and White. The Brindle color has different expressions. One of which is the sealed brindle it is visually a black dog with or without white markings and they can be quite stunning, so how is a black dog a brindle??. I spoke to a technician at a DNA lab about having my sealed brindle tested to see what color she actually was and I was pleasantly surprised when he saved me a lot of money by telling me the genetics had been done and Sealed brindle's test out to be just that Brindle, NOT black. Genetically the dog is Brindle!! White Boxers are another story and a long one. I will try to keep it short. First WE DO NOT BREED FOR WHITES, we try very hard not to produce them. Alot of them are deafsome have vision issues. Then there are skin issues like cancer, they sunburn easily, they also tend to get demodex mange and are prone to allergies. So to say the least they can have a lot of problems! Brindles and Fawns are the most common colors. There is a lot of variation in them as far as being very light or very dark, so its like having 10 more color choices! We are blessed to have the very dark Mahogany fawn or Stag Red as some call it in our breeding program. On to the next topic, markings! You should keep in mind when looking at very young puppies that the white on a puppy's face tends to shrink quite a bit, small white markings on the body tend to shrink or fade away completely, pink noses usually turn solid black, and blue eyes turn very dark brown or black. Those puppies that have way to much white on them for the show ring need homes too and can be visually exciting to look at so who cares if they can be a show dog they are still 100% Boxer and beautiful! That brings us to activity level.... there are different styles of boxers, super high energy frisbee catchers, soccer ball chasers, and basketball poppers! Then there are the ones that like to play fetch some tug a war and then cool off in the pool, I even have a couple that are so chill that people say: I didn't know Boxers came that way.. So what I am trying to say is it all comes down to personal preference!!
